Who is Abu Afif

1974

1974 marked the start point of Abu Afif Sweets. Founder, Mounir Jamal (1929–1980), opened a small shop in Al-Adhamiyah, Baghdad. He was among the first to introduce “Znoud el sit” to Iraq—4 decades on, the mission continues.

1983

After Mounir’s passing, his sons Afif and Nabil expanded into a larger shop in Karrada, Baghdad. Their passion made Abu Afif one of Iraq’s most prestigious pastry houses.

2005

Expansion reached the Kurdistan Region—branches opened in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, bringing our sweets to northern Iraq.

2010

A new branch was opened in Al-Mansour district, Baghdad, further cementing our presence in the capital.

2013

Selling points launched at Baghdad and Basra International Airports— now travelers worldwide can take our sweets home.

Our Lebanon production facility opened, certified to ISO 22000:2018 food‐safety standards—ensuring quality at scale.

2021

Early 2021 saw the launch of our e-commerce site—Abu Afif sweets are now just a click away, with safe payment and fast worldwide delivery!
